Wondering how the emerald hunting went. my husband and i are going later in may and wanted to know if it was worth the trip. or if you found/heard about any other spots that only the locals know about, etc…

Hi! My youngest son’s birthday is coming up in May (he will be 7) and I just watched the episode about emeralds in Hiddenite. (That’s how I found your site; searching for info.)

Since you’ll be going in March I’ll be checking back to see how much fun you had and if you have any recommendations on lodging or good eats.

Hunting emeralds is a great hobby and a good use for a vacation.
Not as nice though as a day spent fishing.
Have you ever done or taken up Agate hunting and prospecting as well ?
