I started researching internal frame backpacks. I was debated about getting one, or just to use the Kelty Frame backpack that I already have. On the RMI list of recommended gear for Camp Muir, they recommend a JanSport Endeavor 8000 Pro. I knew the price of this pack was $200. I had looked at Dick’s SPorting Goods yesterday, and they had a Kelty Red Cloud 5600 for either $170 or $180 depending which price tag you looked at. But I did a Google Search and found the JanSport Endeavor 8000 Pro Tall for $160 at a place name Sierra Trading Post. They had the pack on clearance. And even better was they offered a 20% discount for the first purchase (over $75) for new customers. And even better yet, they only charged me twenty cents for shipping. So I got the backpack for $128. I hadn’t planned on buying one today. But I couldn’t pass the price up! Way cool!

Did you get the backpack delivered? What do you think of it? Do you recommend it?
Can you please publish your account of the backpack. I couldn’t find any reviews on this particular model. I would buy on RMI’s reco, but would be more confident from someone with no conflicts of interest.
Thanks and regards

Yeah it came last week when I was out of town.
One thing to keep in mind is that I am more of a hiker than a backpacker. I have never owned or even used an internal frame pack before. And it has been a while since I even used an external frame pack. That said…
It seems pretty nice. I am hoping to get off and do some climbing in the next few weeks. Just training climbs. But I may load it up with bottles of water for weight.
The construction seems good. One thing I did like right off the bat were the adjusting straps for the hip belt.
I will write more after I get a chance to use it.
