When I travel, I like to bring a game or two with me. I own an older Gameboy Advance, but I never bring it. I would also have to bring games, and the light, and batteries, etc, etc. A real pain! What I do like to bring are cheap LCD type games. A few of my favorites are 7 Card Stud Poker (made by Micro Games Of America), World Series Championship Poker (a Texas Hold Em game made by Excalibur), and a little keychain video poker game that I bought somewhere. The video poker game, and the 7 card stuf game maybe cost me $5 each. The Texas Hold Em game cost me about $20 on sale, but it might be cheaper now. These are the games that I like, but you can find other non-gambling type games in the toy section of your local Target or Wal-Mart store.

Why I like to bring games like these is that I can just shove them in my pocket. The batteries last for months or longer of frequent play. I don’t need to bring a ton of accessories. And since they are so cheap, I don’t have to worry if they get broken. Travel can be a rough environment for an expensive Game Boy Advance or Sony PSP. It would suck to have a $100 game broken, or forgotten in a hotel or airplane. But if my cheap $5 video poker game gets lost or broken, I will just buy another.
