1. I was searching for a book that would tell me the information that would be most useful in searching for just the right camp site... This book has it... very informative and easy to understand without a lot of useless drivel... I wish it were available for Idaho!



2. The book was little more than a list. The hand drawn maps were amaturish in this day and age. It was lacking in information. Maybe I was spoiled by the "100 Best And All The Rest" book I had just purchased on Colorado campgrounds. Camping Wyoming was a waste of money.

1. This book gives you a month-by-month view of what life is like in southern Wyoming with regards to the author's interaction with the natural world around him. It is presented as excerpts from a personal journal. His eye for detail really helps paint a "word-picture" of what he was seeing take place around him. I especially enjoyed Mr. Howe's anecdotes of the people he has known or come in contact with over the years and their unique stories. Some descriptions had almost too many adjectives for me but it was easy to move on the next entry to find something of more personal interest. Even though it is not written from a religous viewpoint Mr. Howe does a great job of helping you see the beauty and wonder of God's creation and nature's "cycle of life."

1. There are a lot of resources out there for travelers who enjoy staying at bed and breakfasts and inns. A quick look at most guides that cover the Rocky Mountains reveals a near endless list. This book is particularly helpful in its selection. You won't find every inn in this book, but every inn you find is worth the trip. Hopefully The Globe Pequot Press will be coming out with the eighth edition soon--after ten years a lot of these places have either closed or changed hands.
