1 comments about Hoh River (Steelhead River Journal, 3).
- Authors of fishing books must run straddle a fine line between selling books and perhaps not giving away their favorite places to fish. There is not nearly enough information in this book. Mr. Probasco's coverage of flies is pretty good, but it is pretty apparent that he did not spend that much time on the river. The only map found in the book is close to useless. If you are looking for a "turn left at the forked stump and use an "x" presentation" book you are better off with "Flyfisher's Guide to Washington" by Greg Thomas. While Mr. Thomas doesn't cover the Hoh in great detail either, by the time you are done reading about the Hoh, Queets, Sol Duc and Bogachiel you will have a pretty good idea of how to fish those rivers. Mr. Probasco's book does have some beautiful pictures in it.

1 comments about Kennewick Washington (WA) (Images of America).
- Kennewick, Wa is an area that is nestled in the beautiful Columbia basin and boasts some of our nations best rolling hills, rivers, and wildlife. Also known as the Tri-Cities, (including the areas of Richland, WA and Pasco, WA)this area is home to the Hanford nuclear reservation plant, and is 20 minutes away from the Oregon border. With Portland, OR 3.5 hours away, and Seattle 4, this cheaper cost of living, low crime, and a total area population of over 300,000 makes this area a fantastic place to live and to raise your family. Median house prices average at about $130,000. A must visit!

1 comments about Seattle Outdoors: Hiking & Cycling-Puget Sound and Cascades.
- Seattle Outdoors Hiking & Cycling: Puget Sound and Cascades by Bob Dreisbach is a no nonsense encyclopedia of hikes with clear directions to reaching the trailhead, equally clear directions on the trails and notes about what to expect. The hikes are organized sequentially by region, making it easy to choose from the hikes available in a particular area. I have a stack of guidebooks for hiking in the Puget Sound and Cascades but this is the one I use more than any other.

1 comments about Undercover Washington: Where Famous Spies Lived, Worked and Loved (Capital Travels).
- "Undercover Washington" is unlike any other travel guide I've seen. It covers all of the places in Washington, D.C. and surrounding suburbs in Maryland and Virginia where spies lived, loved, worked, and defected. The book covers spies and espionage throughout history from George Washington to current events. This is a fun book for locals and tourists.
