1. "Fodor's Seattle" lacks important information essential to a memorable Seattle area trip. For example, it does not even mention the Boeing plant tour and nearby aircraft displays, and while it does have information on some day trips (eg. Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Ranier, Olympic National Park), it lacks information on nearby Tacoma's impressive renovated railroad terminal and Chihuly glass displays. I'm left wondering what else is missing.

1. An excellent resource! I am going to use it as a 4th grade Social Studies text next year. A must have if you live in Seattle or plan to visit. Very child friendly.



2. I've lived in the Seattle area almost all my life. I spent 10 years working in downtown. I feel I really know the area. However, in looking for a book to give me ideas of what to do with my kids playing tourist in Seattle this one didn't help. I'm now looking for another book to inspire me in planning out a full week. If you were a kid from out of state wondering what your parents were getting you in for, this book would be okay. Other than that, it's not really that helpful in planning a vacation.



3. We were going to Seattle and I thought it would be nice if my Little guy who is 7 learned some facts on Seattle before and during our visit, he loved it and was all about the space needle because he learned about it in this book..

1. INSIGHT CITY GUIDE SEATTLE is yet another great book about the city of Seattle and its environs. In addition to a hefty dose of discussion on the history, it also provides plenty of information on the recreation, dining, nightlife, shopping, and other activities in Seattle and its environs, as well as discussing the impact that Microsoft founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen had on the city's development in the 70s and 80s, and Boeing's impact on the area in earlier decades. The only thing this book lacks is a major discussion on media and independent record stores in the area, but that's not a problem, as BEST PLACES SEATTLE will take care of those topics for you.

1. We found a more recent edition of this book at a local bookstore upon arriving on the Kitsap Peninsula. If you are new to the area or soon to relocate, I recommend purchasing this book if only for an overview of the multitude of recreational and educational (sometimes at the same time!) opportunities in this area.
   
   Call prior to setting off on any of the journeys and do some research. The first trip we took was what the authors say is the "only hike for children" on the Kitsap Peninsula and turned out to be an all-day affair that was FAR too advanced for novice climbers. (Gold Creek Trail) We learned our lesson, however, and now do more research before embarking on any of the recommended trips!
