5 comments about On The Backroads of Tuscany.
- Tuscany is dence and full of renown and much seen places and works of art, but this goes beyond, to discover where and how the greatest masterpieces where created. You understand the essence of the tuscan artistic way of life, and how art is in everything: in the wine, in the olive oil, in the food and in a simbol of Bianca Cappello or a sail on a cathedral. Only understanding an environment like this you can understand the deepness in the great masters. The authors acomplished this task fully!
- This is a lovely video, however it is only 30 minutes and does not concentrate long enoug on any one place. Had I known it was so short I would not have ordered it for the price.
- After a friend showed me his copy of On the Backroads of Tuscany -- I began planning my next trip. O'mara Ryan captured the sights and sounds of my favorite part of Italy. From the horse races in Siena to the wonder green extra virgin olive oil, they have started my trip dreams again. Whoever the cinematographer was, he or she knew what they were doing. What a fresh and delightfully artistic look at one of the most beautiful parts of the world. The images, with their thoughtful and poetic narrative, combined to have me searching on-line for a cheap ticket to Italy before the year ends. Thank You.
- Weaves it's way through the intimate details of everyday Tuscan life. Beautiful images and poetic words brings a smile to my face and thoughts in my head of my next trip to the area. A great film and a great buy!
- It is way over priced for the 26 minutes of documentary rather than actual back roads, you get a montage of crafts etc. along the way. The sound track was all static and sound quality poor. I am sending it back.

2 comments about America's Scenic Rail Journeys: Canadian Rockies.
- After watching this video about the route of the Skeena countless times, borrowing it two dozen times from the local library, I finally decided we had to buy our own copy. Our three year-old loves it, not just because of the beautiful scenery, mountains, glaciers, nice people, hiking, history, railroad bridges and tunnels, helicopter, seaplane and fishing boat... I think he also realizes that compared to the garbage on TV that must be so frightening to a small child, this video is pure delight, and he'd much rather we watch "the Skeena video," as he puts it, than anything else we grown-ups might put on the screen. Even though he pleads to see it over and over, I have to say I'm not tired of it, and I learn something new every time I watch it. And the more I watch it, the more I feel my three year-old has taught me something, that the time must come to turn off the TV, even the nice Skeena video, and head for a family vacation in the Canadian Rockies when the children are older.
- America's Scenic Rail Journeys: The Canadian Rockies certainly makes a great impression. Its so relaxing to see such an unspoiled part of North America. The animals, mountains, and bright skyline are a real treat. Jasper National Park is so captivating. I just have to make it there someday.
A big plus are the persepctives from several people. The train conductors are so pleasant. They seem so unworried with trivial matters. Anyway, this is a good overview for those who want to visit this breathtaking part of North America.

2 comments about San Diego Above All.
- I used to live near San Diego and I would visit there every years but when I first saw SanDiego Above All I Marveled on the city's greatness to attract many of Californians to this great city I Would recommend this tape to anyone who has ever wanted to see San Diego Above All
- Those of us who are transplants, are constantly looking for ways to lure our families west. This is a must buy for those last minute "increase the value of the holiday package" gifts. It's a great overview of SanDiego, very pleasant viewing. You don't have to see it all in one sitting. It's not really a story, but a lot of information covering major attractions (both natural and man-made) as well as the culture. Hoping my homeward-bound holiday packages will produce a fruitful 2002 of visitors.
Also good to have a copy for your own house - do a little "armchair touring": Save gas!
