  1. Foremost, these have been recorded in HD digital, so the resolution is astounding compared to older ones recorded with analog cameras. It has alot of fly overs that feels like a ride. It does have a few still views of cities and such, but it is probably the best one I have seen about Washington with Alaska DVD as a bonus.

  1. I knew when I ordered this DVD, that I wasn't getting the production value that goes into the HDnet discs, but I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality. Image quality looks great on a 32" LCD flat screen TV, as well as an HD computer display. Mac users may have a bit of trouble watching the large WMV file, and navigating the menu, but it seems to work just fine on a PC laptop.

5 comments about Adventures in Wild California (IMAX).
  1. I saw the theatrical version of this movie about 3 months ago and just got the DVD release. I thought the film was great when I saw it in the IMAX theater at the Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC. However, the DVD just didn't look right to me. The vibrant colors that I saw in the theater were not there and the soundtrack was not transfered very well to either DD 5.1 or DTS 5.1. The DVD was a disappointment. The video quality of the "Making of" feature was not worthy of DVD release.

I own about a dozen IMAX films on DVD. This and another one that I bought at the same time could have been better. Both were released by Image Entertainment. I have gotten some real low quality DVD releases from Image Entertainment and this continues the trend for me.

  2. The opening sequence of the sky divers over San Diego is the high point of the DVD for me; but the entire DVD is well worth watching repeatedly. Movies should take you to places that you may not be able to go in real life, such as skydiving. The Disney chapter was light and fun; especially the first person perspective roller coaster ride. Climbing up and into the giant trees of California again gives us non-climbers unusual views and different perspectives.

  3. I have a 60" Sony widescreen and its awesome watching Adventures in Wild California on it. The music is good and the photography is excellent. I highly recommend this DVD to anyone. DTS IS GREAT!

  4. A wonderful way to introduce your kids to the wonders of California. This is a great way to spend an evening in front of the TV and enjoying the great music, visuals, and scenery. The Golden Gate Bridge shots are amazing. Highly recommended !! And if it plays at an IMAX near you, DON'T MISS IT!!!!

  5. Tora Tora Tora. is an excellent war movie with a very good and true story. i highly recomment this dvd. the cover on the fron of this dvd is very nice and well done, the sound is very good and if you have a good sound system then this dvd is well worth buying the color is also very good and I give it full five stars, well worth keeping in anyones collection. and well worth its money and well spent. I can honestly say it is well worth watching over annd over again, do buy it

5 comments about Music in High Places - The Calling (Live in Italy).
  1. I never thought much about The Calling until Music in High Places came on my TV late one night. I was enchanted with this video. The music was so beautiful and their surroundings were so serene, that it put me in a peaceful state of mind. The Calling is now one of my favorite bands.

  2. I love The Calling. I play their CD all the time. I was really looking forward to this DVD but I was more than a bit let down. I think Alex Band has a beautiful voice but when he performs live he sounds so weak and amateurish. He totally misses half the notes in each song and completely avoids any difficult notes. He really needs a vocal coach. You can see on his face that he knows he sounds bad. Also, he's a bit stiff when he performs. He puts his hands in his pockets because he doesn't know what else to do with them and 99% of the time he just stands in one place. He's no Elvis. I do LOVE their music but this band is best heard on a CD and not in concert.

  3. It would have gotten 5 stars, but they cut Sean off the cover. I honestly bought this DVD for Sean Woolstenhulme the curly haired guitarist who left the band soon after this was made. The guitar playing is amazing, and the locations are beautiful. The clips of the band just hanging out are also funny, esp. the scooter incident!

  4. The Calling as a band are evolving and the evolution shows in this magnificant DVD featuring music videos and interviews with all the band members. The setting of many of the songs is set out so enchanting throught out their travels in the beautiful lands of Italia. It's a DVD that is worth buying and doubly worth watching over and over.

  5. Rather then 2 hours of a band standing on a stage singing songs, this DVD collection takes the viewer on a journey, a tour of Italy, as we follow "the Calling" with lead singer Alex Band through the city scapes and countryside of Italy. Just short of 1 hour, the collection includes the bands popular songs including "Wherever You Will Go" (my personal favorite), "Could It Be Any Harder", "Unstoppable" and several more for a total of 8 performances (if you count the bonus track in the DVD extras). The extras themselves are so-so, with the exception of a "music only" section which allows you to simply sit back and watch all the performances without the chit-chat and extras in the full feature. This is a really nice extra! The performances are captured throughout Italy, all acoustic in style. Worth adding to your collection. A 5-star rating would have required better extras, including some of the studio version videos.

  1. A Chinese Musical Journey: Hangzhou

This is a finely made dvd, one which music lovers will admire. There are also many chinese instruments relatively unkown to westerners, with sounds and melodies alien to us.

The music accompanies you as you tour through various parts of China.
The price is also very good at $9.99. I highly recommend this dvd.

  2. I bought all this collection of cultural tour of Chinese cities with traditional Chinese music. I truely love them all. Photography and music are done professionally. These cds bring me back good memories. I visited these cities few years back. China is one of a kind, so is its music.
