2 comments about Rick Steves' Eastern Europe.
- Rick Steve's Eastern Europe episodes are great! It made me feel like I was truly back in the country: he shows the people, the culture, the food, transportation, etc., just as it is. If you plan on taking a trip or are studying any Eastern European country--buy this DVD!!
- This is a straight ahead travel guide, describing the kind of trip a typical American tourist might have in one of these countries. This isn't like "Globe Trekker" with a wacky actor and exotic activities, or like a PBS documentary about the countries. The host is very knowledgeable and pleasant.

4 comments about Mozart Symphonies 28 & 40 - A Naxos Musical Journey.
- I love the peaceful scenes of this title and the musics of Mozart. It is most keepable title I've ever seen. If you like classical music, especially Mozart, this title is the best choice.
- Once again another of the Naxos range of Musical Journey DVDs has proved to be very enjoyable. The photography as usual is superb and we are taken around the Southern Tyrol in Italy while Symphony #40 is playing, but for the remainder of the disk, the "journey" is around Innsbruck in Austria. This is just a bit surprising considering that all the pieces in this collection are composed by Mozart who was born in Salzburg which is just a short 100 miles to the east of Innsbruck. Some views of the old city where his house is situated as well as the house itself would have surely been appropriate. Nevertheless, what we are shown is very nice indeed.
One word of criticism is that all the DVDs seem to be only 56 minutes in length. Considering how much will go on a DVD, this seems to be a bit miserly by Naxos, especially when one realises that many, if not most Naxos audio CDs run longer than 56 minutes.
- just imagine one of your neighbors wins a trip to austria and a new video camera...you unfortunately have to later sit through the result...this is such a huge disappointment...of course, the music is beautiful, and the sound is superb, but the camerawork is vapid and unrelated to the theme...long, boring focus on not particularly interesting architecture---there are lengthy shots of a monastery in the tyrol that is far overdone, full of inane shots of damaged ornamentation and not particularly interesting courtyard views...later the scene jumps to innsbruck, but, again, unbearably long focuses on one or two buildings...and somehow they were able to do all the filming at a time when no one was moving in the streets...all in all this is terrible, and a terrific waste of money...it would have been immeasurably more interesting simply watching the orchestra perform...
- Good music, great scenes, suddenly...sadist scenes appears...one of them is a picture of a woman being cut...someone with a knife is holding the woman body part...really ruin the serenity. I detest that scene. After that I never turn on my TV everytime I play that DVD, I just listen.
I just can't understand, sadist scenes in something that should make you peaceful.

5 comments about Globe Trekker - Italy.
- Great product if you are planning a trip to Italy and want to get a feel for the italian way of life.. I was slightly disapointed that it didnt include Rome, but you can buy this on a seperate VHS
- Globe Trekker is a really fun travel show with charismatic hosts. On this disc, popular host Megan McCormick explores northern Italy while Justine Shapiro journeys through southern Italy. We'll see some of the familiar sights, like Rome and Venice but also many less-visited locales which offer their own unique character, culture, and cuisine. Some of the sights include the Dolomites (great for skiing), Ivrea's fun orange-pelting festival, Parma (home of Parmaggiano Reggiano cheese), an awesome Ferrari car museum, and Verona's casa di Giulietta.
There's lots more, and Globe Trekker is fun to watch whether you're planning a vacation or enjoy experiencing new countries from the sofa.
This disc contains 2 episodes from the show, so it's a good bargain for your bucks, too!
- In my view is a quite typical travel guide for the eurotrash tourist, pulls all the stops for parties, multicutural experiences, BIASED view of the city and of the Italians (mafia...), politically correct blabber, and little or no geology, science, history of the city. EUROTRASH tourist guide for poor Europeans that think they are rich enough to pick others problems. Maybe the need to belong too???
- PITIFUL!!!
Silly commentary, sub-standard and grainy photography with dizzying cuts, and a general ignorance and obvious lack of taste on the part of the entire production team make this item an enormous rip-off!
Thin on content, one learns little to nothing about what to see. Important treasures and antiquities are glossed over or omitted completely. None of the mysitcal beauty and abundant charm of this wonderful country is conveyed, and in fact, leaves the viewer disenchanted.
If you're serious about learning about travel in a foreign country, stay away from Globe Trekker Productions, and look to Rick Steeves' video series for a great experience.
- This is terrible, if what you are looking for is a travel guide.
If you want to watch a sort of cute young lady's home movie of traveling in Italy, you might like this. It gives very little helpful information about traveling in the region.
There are other companies who produce helpful travel guides.

1 comments about Aviation Action.
- This DVD set is simply bad, image quality is below average (transfer from VHS), the comment are worthless and the description from the Box is misleading, this is a collage of home-videos and television programs and it's nowhere near a documentary.
The only posotive point is that each DVDs ended pretty soon (about 23 minutes each)
