5 comments about Missile to the Moon.
- Missile To The Moon is what you might call the poor man's version of Cat-Women Of the Moon, sans way-out cat-dance. The revamped version with its two younger leads, who are escaped convicts, obviously intended to cash in on the Rebel Without A Cause wave that was going around at the time. Now we get some rock creatures you will almost swear have happy-smiling faces when you see them for the first time. The spacesuits are nothing more than airforce fighter pilot uniforms with snow boots. There is also a spider in this one, but instead of strings, it is a cable that is shamelessly unhidden this time. Whereas Cat-Women had the potential to evoke a feeling of bitter-sweetness, the moon women are swanky and decadent. The Alpha character is played by this Miss Yugoslavia pageant winner--stunning eye candy, but not nearly as sinister as the original Alpha. Because the moon women's costumes are somewhat more revealing and somehow also lend to the ladies more inactivity than the cat-women, this in effect seems to spoil what should have the dreamy ambiance of mystery that was so nearly successfully captured in Cat-Woman. Because the issues of species survival has shifted more towards species dominance, it is also hard to sympathize with the moon women when Leto first reveals their plight. As for the DVD itself, the transfer is respectable. The extras comprise of a pretty nifty collection of behind-the scenes photos. All in all, it is a good purchase--if you can find it used for under 7$.
- Movies don't stick in your memory for forty years for no good reason. This one just would not go away. Low expectations are wonderfully rewarded. The pre-feminist theme of men as mezmerized breeding slaves in a phony underground lunar playground works to perfection. Matriarchal society never looked so good as with this cast of beauty pageant winners. You too will say, "Yes, my Lido!"
- Missile to the Moon is a remake(or sequel depending how you look it)of the 1953 Sci-Fi B-movie, Cat-Women of the Moon, The film is about two escaped convicts who stow-away in a rocket ship to the moon with the head pilot, his friend, Steve and Steve's girlfriend June. On the way to the moon, the head pilot dies and tells Steve to meet the queen of the moon maidens. The Earth people meets the moon maidens and discovers one of them wants to marry Steve, and orders her servant girls to kill June with a giant spider. This film is not as exciting but it is fun to watch on Saturday mornings. For those who would rather see the original Cat-Women of the moon, that is alright as well.
- When a scientist builds a missile that will take him to the moon(thus the title of course), he enlists(more like forces) the help of two escaped convicts to help him pilot the thing on it's journey. Why not? His assistant and his girlfiend happen to stumble aboard as well. After arriving on the moon they discover a civilization of sexy women(who speak English of course) who are running out of air and wish to colonize another planet. Our group finds itself in danger and must escape before they're all killed by the evil new dictator chick. With the help of a sympathetic moon girl, who's gone soft for one of the convicts(of course. There's always one, isn't there?), they try to make their way back to their missile. On their moon trip they enounter giant rock men(guys in styrofoam outfits with no attempt whatsoever to cover up the actors' faces popping out of the costume), a giant spider(any film should get at least one extra star on it's rating if it has a giant spider in it), and oxygen. They also find that standing out in the sun will have the same effect on a human as it would on a vampire. Needless to say that Missile to the Moon is one of those films that will be most enjoyed by the Plan 9 crowd. In fact, I actually like this more than Plan 9 myself. This film is a remake of Cat Women Of The Moon. I really don't understand what the point was to remake a schlock film that was made only six years earlier, and do it just as cheaply. I guess we'll never know. One of the more fun 50s sci-fi films. But the one thing I don't quite get is why with all these woman around, not one guy gets lucky throughout the entire film(then again they weren't given alot of time. But somebody could have at least made it quick). Another thing we'll never understand I guess. It's still fun though!
- Not a bad sort of film in a cheesy kind of way but I have yet to see a transfer to either vhs or dvd that was of minimally good quality. The editing in the movie transfer looks like it was done with a hacksaw. There are abrupt jumps in the editing of the film and over all the effect vastly diminishes from the viewing enjoyment even of such a cheesy film as this one. My recommendation to everybody who is interested in buying this product is for them to wait until there is a good quality version transfer of this movie.

5 comments about Pleasurecraft.
- This was a great movie! If you love movie you'll love this great story.Nice womens and set!
- Nothing ground-breaking in this soft-core title from the usually reliable folks at Full Moon. The DVD contains some funny behind the scenes material, but that's about it. This is supposed to be the special Director's Cut, so, I hate to see the chopped up version. Lose this one and pop in Castle Freak one more time.
- Awful movie that tries to blend cheesy humor with soft core sex scenes. But the mix doesn't work at all. The only redeeming feature is the presence of the amazingly beautiful Amber Newman. She's the only reason to watch this.
- Not good acting. Some Sex scenes not too hot. Last one is best between Amber Newman and the captain. As he is having sex with her from behind her bare foot is touching his bare foot. He has pleasured reactions on his face while shs barely has none. 2 Stars.
- In Pleasurecraft, the crew of a spacecraft are given a mysterious cargo. The cargo is three women who are to be delivered to the leader of an enemy culture in order to achieve peace. Of course the crew falls in love with the women and vice versa and in the end they find a way to all stay together. Not very original, but it serves its purpose.
There are six sex scenes. Five are boy/girl and one is girl/girl/girl. There are also a couple of strip tease scenes. The boy/girl scenes were all good, but the lesbian scene was too tame and didn't impress me. Strip scenes rarely make an impression on me and these were no exception.
The three main leads, Brandy Davis, Amber Newman, and Taime Hannum, were all gorgeous. Brandy and Amber had one boy/girl scene each and Taimie had two. All three were in the lesbian scene. Two other women are in the video and were attactive as well.
Since this is a Koch DVD release, I'll note that it is indeed the unrated version and not some hacked up, R rated version.
I don't think this video would make anyone's top ten list, and there is definitely better softcore available. However, it's cheap and delivers a reasonable amount of heat, so I don't regret buying it.

4 comments about Travel With Kids - Hawaii: Maui & Molokai.
- "Travel With Kids Hawai'i: The Island Of Maui & Moloka'i" is a full color, 50 minute, beautifully produced travel guide specifically designed for families with young children and staring the Roberts family as they explore the Hawaiian islands of Maui and Molok'i. Young viewers (and older viewers too, for that matter!) will learn about ancient Polynesia and how the islands were formed in the Pacific Ocean; Maui's history of whaling; the natural surrounds on the road to 'Hana and on Ka'anapali Beach. Viewers will be introduced to Hawaiian foods and sunsets, trains rides through old sugar cane plantations, the undersea life at Maui Ocean Center, a snorkel tour of Lanai, and so much more. The DVD format allows for the addition of expanded videos of family-friendly accommodations and transportation; tips and resources when traveling with kids; a trip planner with itineraries; language, crafts and recipes; even a blooper reel! Also very highly recommended are two other Pro Active Entertainment DVDs for vacationing parents: "Travel With Kids: Caribbean" and "Travel With Kids Hawaii: The Island Of Oahu".
- As a former resident of the Island of Molokai, I thoroughly enjoyed this visual tour. The filmmakers effectively showed the tourist (and non-tourist) attractions of the island and went into helpful detail as to what to expect in each location. From the East end to the West end, the covered everything. The coverage of Maui was equally in-depth, but obviously there's much more on that island, so there's more to cover and more to leave out.
Overall, this is a great DVD to help get a visual idea of the trip you might take with a family to Molokai. I don't think that this video takes the place of a travel book or online research, though, and the price is a little steep for an hour long video. But if you want a preview of what you're going to see on these two islands, this is the DVD for you.
- It gave the whole family a good visual look at what Maui had to offer before traveling there, so we could each choose something that we wanted to do.
- Excellent family oriented travel video; we're heading to Maui at Christmas and will likely use this video as our guide for what to do with families

1 comments about Fire Mountain: The Eruption and Rebirth of Mount St. Helens.
- I have seen many documentaries on volcanos and I would love to study one erupting up close........Umm not too close....but this particular documentary for me was a very informative one that put in perspective what happened that day. It's too bad that an actual video of the eruption wasn't available but the famous still photographs of it still do the job nicely.
I also think that giving you perspective on what life is like post eruption was very interesting too because after an eruption like that, it took years for life to return to that mountain, which is the downside of living on a volcano or near it.........you always are in danger of having to move if it decides to erupt. Definitely worthy of a purchase if you like documentaries on volcanos.

5 comments about The Magnificent Scenery of Ireland.
- This DVD is not so "magnificent" as indicated by some of the reviews found here. Some of the scenes are nice, but the editing and transfer leave much to be desired. The music also, is not a good fit in my opinion. If you are looking for an exceptional musical travelogue of Ireland, I would highly recommend "Portrait of Ireland" featuring James Galway, Enya and the Chieftains. It has excellent cinematography with great music to scenery match.
- The views picked are some of the best of Ireland. However, since it was recorded on a VHS tape and then transfered to DVD, it does have that fuzzy quality like VHS tapes. If you can get by that, you will love the scenery.
- This was a gift for my parents and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
- This DVD is exactly what its title claims: scenery of Ireland. Yes, the video is magnificent! But it would have been much more meaningful to someone who's never been there before to know more specifically what he/she is looking at. The video is divided into 4 areas of Ireland. Captions or a voiced description would have been helpful. With every move of the mouse, the video re-starts which is aggravating, and makes it difficult to utilize the control buttons at the bottom of the screen.
- I purchased the DVD with the hope of viewing parts of Ireland that my wife and I had not yet had the opportunity to see on vacation. We recognized places we had been, but the lack of audio or text does not give you and clue as to where the beautiful location is or how you may find out more about it. Would not recommend if you were looking for a DVD that provides information or insight on planning a trip. Great if you want to see how beautiful Ireland is and listen to some elevator music. Could not watch the entire DVD at approx. 60 minutes, just too boring.

4 comments about Venice: A Musical Journey - A Musical Tour of the City's Past and Present.
- I watched this right after the awful "A Travelers Guide To Italy" DVD, and this prodution shines by comparison. The music is taseful, and the camera-work is professional, giving good views of Venice. It does get a bit repetitive. There are too many shots of small side canals in overcast weather, and not enough panoramic views to help orient the viewer. Very little of the video was shot on sunny days, whic may reflect the budget of the production as much as it does the local weather. Some brighter scenes might have brought out the beauty of the city more. All the camera angles are simple ones on the ground or a boat, much as one could get with a decent 3-chip camera and a tripod. I realize crane and helicopter shots are expensive, but one feels the lack of budget when trying to get an overview of an entire city.
As a mood piece it is OK. As a preview for a visitor (my intended use), it is lacking.
- I was unexpectedly pleased with this DVD. It can be used as a calming relaxation DVD or for more informational purposes. It comes with a descriptive booklet, but the same information is provided on the DVD. You can look up information about the places in each section and the musical pieces that accompany them, either in the booklet or on the DVD. There is a brief descriptive title indicating the general locale at the beginning of each section as the film is viewed, but the main menu indicates where the more detailed information can be found. The scenery of Venice is beautiful and relaxing. The music is equally gorgeous.
- In preparation for our first visit to Venice, we watched this DVD and were totally entranced by the scenes and the music. It captures the romance and mystique of the city, in all the seasons and even takes you out to the surrounding islands. Now that we are home, we watch it to bring back all the wonderful memories of our visit.
- This sumptuous musical tour of Venice and outlying islands is fabulous! The scenes of preparation for carnival and the scenes of the little known islands of Torcello and Burano are worth the DVD alone. I've bought three copies: one for myself and two for friends. I can't recommend the DVD for lovers of Venice enough.
