1 comments about Europe to the Max: Hidden Treasures - Romantic Germany and Beyond.
- I have bought DVDs from both Maxa and Steves and find both to be pretty good. If I had to pick one I'd probably recommend Max as Rick Steves can come off as a bit boring nearing grating after a couple of hours. Steves books are thorough however and make for a good source (though Karen Brown's are the best for quaint inns and travel itineraries).

- DVD Maximum: America by Rail.
After receiving the product as ordered, I found this to be packaged extremely well and in excellent condition.
The package consisted of four DVDs and covered, the "Route of the Southwest Chief" , "Winter Wonderland" , "Colorado's Scenic Train Rides", and "The Potomas Eagle" respectively.
On each the programs, I considered the video photography showing wonderful scenery as other features of the trains both excellent and realistic together with a pleasing commentry with didn't get bogged down without too much technical detail making it enjoyable to both my family and friends. The side trips covered were also very enjoyable and make pleasant breaks whilst watching the long Amtrak journeys.
"Colorado's Scenic Train Rides" gives a marvelous tour of the many scenic attractions and rail routes including around the mountains in this fabulous State, including narrow gage trains, cog rails to Pikes Peak, trolleys and streetcars, Denver's new light rail and many other attractions. We enjoyed these in real life as this DVD reminds us of many happy memories, and I feel sure that every one should enjoy this.
"The Potomac Eagle" I found the filming to be fantastic and very realistic from a passenger perspective. The views of wildlife and their natural surroundings were incredible.
I found everything on each DVD absolutely fascinating and enjoyable, and I can thoroughly recommend this DVD set of four to anyone. Also I would mention the prompt and hassle free service given by Amazon having received my order within a few days over here in New Zealand.
Great Service.

3 comments about ScubaCore DVD Issue 3.
- i really love the scubacore dvds especially because of the underwater footage. it is the best quality that ive seen. also, the destinations are so unique and different from each other in each dvd, not one boring minute and so much helpful information. worth every penny!
- My husband got me this ScubaCore DVD because he knows how much I love the environment and all wildlife, marine and otherwise. I had a nasty cold and was in bed for few days so he thought I could use some cheering up with easy-on-the-eye images. Plus there's only so much daytime TV a person can watch. I checked it out and guess what? This is a DVD anyone can enjoy! If you have an interest in travel, swimming, undersea creatures, exotic locations (and obviously --diving), or if you are feeling low or sick or sad (or all of the above), this is a great way to pleasantly pass the time. I'll probably never dive in these amazing spots since I am not a diver, but I feel like I spent time underwater. Fabulous! What a great ride, well told and informative. Lastly, very peaceful and beautiful to watch. There's a whole world under the sea and ScubaCore definitely takes you there. Good production values make this a keeper in my DVD collection. Happy diving!
- I bought ScubaCore Issue 1 because I wanted to check out the segment on Yap, and before I knew it two hours had done by and I had watched the entire DVD, special features and all. The next day I bought ScubaCore Issues 2 and 3, and enjoyed them just as much. The locations they show are really diverse, and having been to a few of those places, I can say that they are well-represented on the ScubaCore DVDs. The quality of the underwater cinematography is fantastic -- this is some of the most colorful underwater footage I have seen. Be sure to check out the special feature on sharks in Issue 3 -- it's obvious that these folks really care about the marine environment. I highly recommend these beautiful DVDs for divers and anyone who is interested in learning more about our oceans.

4 comments about Total Reality.
- i enjoyed this sci-fi movie and thought that it was a change of pace for david bradley since most of his movies are martial arts action/adventure. worth watching again!
- The first 30 minutes of Total Reality are great. Big spaceships thunder across the screen (and your speakers) whilst being attacked by lots of smaller ones. In the meantime an attack force boards one of the biggies and lots of shooting occurs whilst the battle rages outside. It's great stuff and gets your adrenalin going. But it's a real shame the film didn't hold my interest afterwards. The goodies are forced to go back in time to track down the baddies who also went back in time. Some quite exciting set pieces (with big explosions) keep the excitement going but then melodrama and some pretty poor acting start to take their toll. I know this isn't a mega-budget film but you don't need big bucks to keep the pace going. The film slowly starts to run out of steam. What a shame. But it's definitely worth seeing if you like space battles and there is another BIG spaceship at the end.
- I think that most sci-fi fans would enjoy this film but in comparison to some of the TV shows we now have, the graphics really don't stand up. No, effects aren't everything but they help.
The plot is really very interesting - a guy writes a book and everything gets totally out of hand. Thousands are corrupted by the book and live their lives through its teaching - but this brings about a war and chaos ensues. Our heros get sent back in time to stop some baddies who've also escaped back to 1998. That's the gist of it anyway. So, we've got a good overall plot, but there is a LOT of inconsistency - one woman's hair changes dramatically from scene to scene, so my family were all laughing at the supposedly touching parts of the flick. Watch out for some stupid lines, such as "Take us to your computer", which I don't think they even meant to be funny! Overall, I didn't mind the film. The best thing about it was probably that it made me laugh even though it really isn't a comedy. It was a good idea which fell flat on it's face but I could just about cope with it. There is also not any extra material with the DVD except a trailer, which was a little annoying - when you buy a DVD you expect something more than a video and I didn't think it offered much in that respect. The very worst thing about this film is all the swearing in it. At one point, a guy just swears a whole sentence out and you had to laugh because it was so ridiculous. That was the only time the swearing was remotely funny. It was uneccesary and didn't add anything to the film - it just got really annoying! Even if you don't mind swearing, I think it would begin to grate on your nerves eventually. So, the verdict: You decide, it's low budget but good for a laugh, especially if you're a sci-fi fan, however the bad effects, bad lines and constant swearing could put many people off.
- This truly and utterly stinks. Awful acting (I thought Keanu Reeves was wooden, but this is a whole forest of Z-list actors), abysmal plot (not only could this atrocity be written on a beer-mat, but you'd have space to write two more of these stinkers in the space left over).
Avoid!
