1. I had only 24 hours in Lisbon on my way to a conference. This book had the all-important map, a list of the top attractions with a page devoted to each- photo, directions, and briefly explaining why it's a draw. It explained the currency, the customs, and had a restaurant and lodging guide. I skimmed it on the plane and easily planned my trip from it- and the lady next to me, who had two much thicker guidebooks, saw that this was so much easier to use that she borrowed it from me and tossed her own to one side. And it was slim and fairly easy to carry. I've never had such a useful travel guide. It you were spending more than a week there you might need something more detailed- but I picked up the details from the places I visited! From the guide I just needed to know where to go and how, and this was perfect. And Lisbon, by the way, is wonderful ;-)
