1 comments about Buying a Property: Portugal (Buying a Property - Cadogan).
- This is a very competent work and a very useful tool for the potential buyer of property in Portugal. I like the way it is structured making it easy to find what you are looking for. It is difficult to think of something you want to know and is not there. There is an excellent section on "Settling In". The "Language" and the "References" sections are quite detailed with pratical guidance and extra sources of information. It is an excellent buy.

1 comments about Valencia, 2nd (Footprint - Pocket Guides).
- This is a great book to help you get around Valencia, I used it on a recent trip.
The only thing I would have liked to have was a better map, I like the little books due to the fact that you don't look like such a tourist (I cover mine in black paper so its even less obvious) but the maps in the back could be expanded to offer more.

1 comments about The Best of Costa del Sol.
- This book is an excellent companion to "Top 10 Andalucia and Costa Del Sol". I have actually used this book in restaurants to order food and every time I got what I wanted and people appreciated my effort. This book will give you short overview of each city of Andalucia worth seeing. But if you want more history I suggest you join a group tour for a day. Most tour guides speak English, German, French and Italian. Always negotiate taxi rides - prices are excruciatingly high. I have used public transportation and found it reliable, clean and fun. Great color pictures in this little book. Worth taking on the trip!

1 comments about Time for Food: Madrid (Time For Food).
- Used the Time for Food books for Madrid and Barcelona. My wife and I ate wonderful local cuisines at a wide range of places (the haute cuisine and piano player in a converted 16th century church in Madrid Vs the seafood market stalls in Barcelona!) and had a wonderful time. Descriptions were on point (we could identify which places we preferred), and often mouth watering. For me, a vacation with poor food is a disaster, and these tiny books made Spain a place we want to re-visit. My highest recommendation.

4 comments about Eyewitness Travel Guide to Seville and Andalusia.
- Buy this book. Read it cover to cover. And do it before you leave...
This book is the perfect orientation to Spain and what riches it has to offer. By using this book as my guide, I saw more of Andalucia than I could have ever hoped for. The photographs in the book inspired many of my own (and more!). The city layouts are fantastic for anyone who has no sense of direction. Furthermore, the book gave me a tantilizing taste of the thrills to come when I would be in Spain...
- As with all Eyewitness Guides, this is beautifully illustrated and informative. I have to admit I read it AFTER I visited Andalusia, but wish it had been on the market when I did go. It is an excellent armchair travel book. It has certainly whetted my appetite to go back. Retrospective reading always reveals gems you wish you had discovered at the time. One real bonus of Eyewitness guides is that they have PROPER maps, with street indexes integrated into them, unlike some guides which rely on sketch maps, and where the scale can be a bit hit and miss. Another advantage is they don;t attempt to list a "Top Ten" for each place, rather they provide comprehensive coverage, and divide their coverage by locale.
- As always, Eyewitness has the best maps. The coverage of Seville makes it the best guide for that city, period. The coverage of the outlying major areas, such as Granada and Cordoba, should be supplemented with the Cadogan book on Seville, Granada, Cordoba, but the Eyewitness has the best information on eating, shopping, getting around, hotels, and culture survival for Seville. If you are staying in Seville, take this book with you into the streets when you go.
- My wife and I used this book and Lonely Planet: Spain book for a week in Seville and Cordoba.
We found it to be excellent for the high-points, or must see's, of the area. The photos are excellent in this book. Also, this book is much smaller and easier to carry than either Lonely Planet's or Eyewitness' guides for the entire country. For non-touristy (or less touristy) things, Lonely Planet has much better depth. We found the two books to complement each other nicely. By the way, Andalusia is spectacular! Enjoy!
