1 comments about Only in Oregon: Natural and Manmade Landmarks and Oddities.
- I heard about this book on the public broadcasting radio station in Eugene, Oregon, while taking my kid to UofO. Since I have most of Barnes' lodge books, I picked this up at the University bookstore (sorry Amazon---I'm getting more for Oregon friends through you). There are some lodges and historic building in here, but this is really just what the title says. The author and her husband explored the state searching out important spots (the wreck of the New Carissa on the coast) to strange ones like a guy with a big bear near a filling station in eastern Oregon. There are maps and great color photographs. Even if you never go see these places, it's fun to know about them.
