1. Reading this booklet makes me want to go back for another trip along the most beautiful country in the world, Norway. My first trip was in 1998, and I'm more than ready for another one.

1. The "Insight Guides: Norway" is an extensive introduction to the country and people of Norway. At just under 400 pages, this guide includes a brief history of Norway, essays sampling the prominent features of its culture, and a descriptive survey of its major regions. A brief section at the end of the book touches briefly the practicalities of travel to Norway. The guide is lavishly illustrated with photographs and maps.
   
   The essays on Norway offer the interested traveler some insight into the people of Norway that will enhance a visit or vacation. The photographs and maps suggest a sense of scale for the huge and varied landscape of Norway. The travelogues through the different regions of Norway constitute enough of a basis to selecting places to visit. Norway is an ancient land and there are points of interest hidden in many often remote locations outside Oslo. Indeed, a traveler who visits only Oslo will have missed the best of what Norway has to offer.
   
   A few cautions are in order. Travelers planning a visit to Norway should expect to consult other resources for more detailed information on the practicalities of travel and accomodation. Outside of the major cities, tourist infrastructure can be quite thin. The sunlit weather and scenary shown in the photographs can alternate with heavy overcast, rain, or snow at almost any season of the year, especially in the mountains of the interior and in north Norway. The unprepared traveler risks being at the mercy of such weather conditions.
   
   This book is highly recommended to the traveler considering a trip to Norway and looking for a sense of what to expect.

   He often shared stories and stories of how norwegians were and its so funny and entertaining to hear these exact stories in this book.

   Its a quick read and you can visualize those beautiful fjords, mountains and off-the-beaten-track trecks you see NOrwegians On

   I'd fully recommend it!!




2. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this description of two people's journey across Norway. Having spent five years there, and speaking the language, Andrew provides easy insights into Norway, Norwegians and their way of life. As funny and insightful as it is, there's an added element, a bittersweet experience as he returns to a land, and a past love, which had bewitched him and charmed him. I felt like I was there and didn't want the story to end.
