5 comments about North American Guide to Nude Recreation: The Most Comprehensive Listing of Nude Recreation Resorts and Clubs (North American Guide to Nude Recreation: ... Listing of Nude Recreation ...).
  1. The American Association of Nude Recreation (AANR) is a well established organization for clothing free/optional recreation, and one of the jewels in the AANR crown is this book.

The book thoroughly outlines each club in the US and Canada. Items such as addresses, phone numbers, and amenities of each club are meticulously detailed. So, if you're looking for a camp with a heated pool, tennis courts, sauna or snack bar, you'll easily find it herewithin.

Like many naturist/nudist publications, the book starts off with a brief intro about naturist/nudist lifestyles and why anyone would enjoy or consider a nude vacation. It is NOT a book outlining the social/political or health reasons for going nude, nor are the pictures within titillating or erotic (just like nude resorts-my favorite quote: "one nude draped on a divan is erotic; 100 nudes in line for potato salad are NOT"). It is an extremely detailed and well-researched guide to clothing free recreational areas; oh that TEXTILE CAMP GUIDES should be this thorough!

While no beaches are highlighted in this book (there is a WORLD guide for that), it is a perfect starting point for anyone considering a nude vacation.

  2. I've got the 20th edition, haven't used it yet but it seems reasonably thorough. For your money you get a travel guide that covers just about everything briefly without being too wordy. You do not get a picture book although there are some, generally small, photographs not of the pornographic sort of people and of some of the sites. I do wish that they did a better job of telling which resorts and clubs admit singles. At least you get websites, email and mail addresses and phone numbers to contact each location.

  3. Not really detailed enough to help -- several web sights that give you this much or more info on these places -- and they are FREE -- but if you want something to travel with (as I did) -- then by all means -- take it along -- just call ahead to be sure things have not changed too much --

    a member of AANR

  4. This book is only for those interested in organized, family- oriented, recreational naturism in campgrounds and resorts around the U.S. If you are looking for any information on beaches or other areas to go naked, this is NOT the book for you! What little information about nude beaches that is included is woefully inadequate, so don't be fooled by the cover!

  5. The name is VERY misleading. There is very little in it about Canada and only those resorts that are AANR members get listings. There are no nude beaches listed. Should be called The AANR Club Guide. A waste of money.

  1. This atlas is a great book to have on hand while driving through Wyoming, especially via the backroads. It's a must-have for any traveler and resident.

  2. This was very well made, for an atlas. The format and legend was easy to understand, and it certainly helped my not so great navigational skills.

  3. DeLorme has done it again! Stellar mapping and attention to detail make this a grand publication. Two thumbs up!

  4. The Delorme atlases/gazetteers are valuable references especially if you are traveling the back roads. Compared to a regular road map, there is much more detail to find your way just about anywhere in the atlas coverage area. If you need a lot of detail, you can then purchase topographic maps. Special features are also noted. Get one of these for any state where you plan to explore off the beaten trail. I already have atlases for five states, and the collection will surely grow in coming years.

  1. I recommend highly this book as I find it to be excellently written. It has a great tour guide for each Indian casino and a great one page summary for each casino. It makes you want to take the complete tour. It also has a good introduction and history on the Indians which my wife really enjoys.

  1. Since most vacations involve some travel on the Interstates, a book that covers them is indispensible. This is that book. It is pocket-sized for easy carrying and jam-packed with useful information.

The book covers all major freeways, and has over 600 full-color photos and maps carefully selected to closely follow a well-written and well-organized text. An excellent feature is that the discussion of each Interstate begins at one end of the road and terminates at the other. This enables the traveler to briefly review the book at day's end to plan the following day's activities. The book shows and discusses National and local parks, museums, historical sites, and major cities along each road.

This book is an excellent way to capture the varied geography of the continental United States in a nutshell. You will be amazed at the things you discover and at how many interesting places are near where you live. Obviously, I recommend this book very highly

  2. This is a travel guide of a different nature.Rather than dealing with a city, state or region, it deals with the major Interstates of America. It is a terrific guide that makes it very simple to choose between the many routes you can take on a trip from one place in America to another;and gives a very simple way of telling what you will see and the places of interest you'll pass along the way.It is arranged in a way that allows you to skip around from one route to another. The way the book is set up, of page numbering, route organization, points of interest identification by numbers, has been well thought out and results in unbelievable simplicity in use.The Interstate maps are right along with the information and negates the need to bounce all around the book.It is loaded with excellent photos that show what the scenic features as well as the points of interest look like.On top of that, it has an excellent index at the back of the book. For instance, all you have to do is think of a point of interest, look it up in the index,go to the page;you'll be placed right on the Interstate and be shown where it is.You'll also see immediately how to get there and also what else you'll pass on the way.
This book is constructed with excellent paper, printing and cover and binding construction that will insure that it will stand a lot of use for many years. It is definately a guide that you will not toss out in a year or so because of wear or being out of date. These people are real pros at making such a guide.I do lot of birdwatching and we use guides that must be tops from an information standpoint;but must be of supurb construction to withstand hard use in the field and last for years. The Nat.Geo."Birds of North America" is such a book ;in fact it has no equal in the opinion of most Birders. This Interstate Travel guide is of the same high quality.

  3. my copy was an old one-so naturally it was pretty much useless.

  1. This book is a very interesting exploration of old New York, written by an interesting woman, Hope Cooke, who among other things was married to the prince of Sikkim, and (enjoyed?) much publicity in the 60's. I read her autobiography after reading this, but actually, she come across as being much more interesting in this scholarly book. I wish she would write more on the subject of old New York.
