1. This book is an excellent guide for men. Not so much for tinkle-let's face it, we can pee anywhere. But when your AZT has got you going #2 every 5 minutes, you need a clean, quite place to go. Not one of those filthy bathrooms where the bowl is some jive-talking "holy roller" all down on your lifestyle.
   My only gripe with the guide is that it does not point out the bathrooms that have fully functional Glory holes. Maybe in the next edition?



2. As Ken suggests, and all can verify, not all public toilets are created equal. A visitor to the Big Apple needs a clean, well-lighted place in which to answer nature's call. Sadly, the out-of-town rube often is forced to take a slippery walk on the wild and wet and dark and dank side of life just this side of ratzo's little hideaway. I mean, how can a man aim it if he can't see where he's aiming? Oh, how my heart breaks for the maintainence people, truly their lives will be better in the afterlife. Ken does provide good tips on the best places in which to do your deed. Five star hotels are a no-brainer. The executive facilities of corporate honchos would fit my fanny nicely, but how do you get the key? Breaking into the Dakota and asking the Widow VanderSweavel if she wants to go out for an ice cream in exchangefor a personal moment in her privy is indeed the best advice, although it does take some moxey. All told, a good guide, although somewhat dated (the Polo Grounds was, afterall, demolished in the Sixties). My advice to Ken: Why stop at New York City? Oh, I know! While researching his book, Ken was probably singing that old chesnut, "The Sidewalks of New York." Now THERE'S an idea!

1. Visited New York twice with tour group, bought this book for planning purposes to visit city again with only my wife and child. This is a great guide and planning book. Has all the different sections laid out with facts and pictures. Easy to read, orderly, and interesting. Don't think you could find or buy a better book for this purpose. Everthing you need to plan a visit or vacation to the most interesting city in the world. Fun to read!! Even if you are not planning a trip, it is full of facts and interesting things of the city. GREAT BOOK!!!!!!

1. I love this guide book. I couldn't find my old Streetwise NYC map so I went looking for a new one. This is a cool little book that opens into two sections. The front half is made up of a general view map of Manhattan with the subway. This map opens into 2 awesome fold-out detailed maps with all street names, major points of interest, hotels, shopping...etc. All this in a much smaller format than Streetwise. The back half of the book is a slick guide book. Although it is very abbreviated, I found that it wasn't lacking anything. Many of my favorite spots are mentioned, as well as some that I look forward to checking out.

   To top off the neat presentation, the book has a slide out pen and an area to take notes, addresses and numbers...and on the top of the spine is an actual compass the flips out so you can orient yourself with the map. I find that nothing says 'native new yorker' more than whipping out a compass on Park Ave.

   I love this book. It's size makes it a discreet reference (except for the compass) that fits in your pocket. It has all the tourist info. So for the price, buy this one and spend the rest on a specific guide for this city (like shopping or dining). Leave the bulky, endless guide books at home.




2. My son received this from his grandparents when he was going to NYC for the first time. What a great little gem this guide is! It's small, has a pen, a pop-out map, a city guide and a compass on the binding. The pen is lighted as well. Inside are guides to "buying it"...restaurants, parks, you name it. The map is easy to pop out and better yet, goes back together wonderfully. Fits into a backpack or pocket perfectly. Kudos to whomever came up with the design idea!

1. The "Inside-Outside Book of New York City" features interior and exterior views of some of New York's famous landmarks. For instance, there is the Statue of Liberty, subway at Times Square, New York Stock Exchange, and the American Museum of Natural History.
   
   It was first written and published over twenty years ago so the pictures may not be up-to-date, as some of these landmarks have since been renovated and improved.
   
   The pages contain a caption of each landmark. However, there are no descriptions. A person who wishes to learn more about these fascinating sites is advised to find an alternate resource to satisfy their curiosity.



2. This book is just a joy to look at. The art is incredible, and the imagination it must have taken to come up with these perspectives... it's absolutey mind-blowing. My class loves looking at this.
