3 comments about 25 Bicycle Tours in the Lake Champlain Region: Scenic Tours in Vermont, New York, and Quebec.
- Part of the outstanding "Backcountry Guide" series from The Countryman Press, 25 Bicycle Tours In The Lake Champlain Region: Scenic Tours In Vermont, New York, And Quebec offers wonderfully satisfying bike hikes through New York's Adirondacks, Vermont's Green Mountains, and the scenery and charms of Quebec's historic towns and villages. Including a wide range of lodging and dining options, cyclists can explore the southern tip of the lake in Whitehall, New York, to the quaint college town of Middlebury, Vermont. The various tours range from scenic and flat 10 mile loops to adventurous 82-mile rides through the easter Adirondacks. Whether for an afternoon's pleasant exercise or a weekend of high cycling adventure, 25 Bicycle Tours In The Lake Champlain Region is an enthusiastically recommended regional guide.
- I used this book to take a six-day bike tour from Burlington, VT to Montreal, Quebec, and I had a great trip. The author's directions are so accurate that I was able to ride all the way to Montreal without consulting a map! The author recommended hotels that are conveniently located for cyclists and chose roads and bike paths that were scenic and generally had light traffic. This book is a valuable resource for any bicycle tourist!
- If you are looking for a book with a wide variety of interconnected tours in the Lake Champlain Region, you cannot do much better than this one! From easy juants to planning 10 days around the Lake, it is a great resource. Really looking forward to doing some bike exploring in the region.

1 comments about Manhattan: A Pictorial Souvenir.
- This book contains great artistic pictures from the greatest city of the world. I used this book in my first trip to NY and it gives a good image of the city main touristic places. Pictures are, as I said, very good, but some do not have good quality. Pictures are sometimes too artistic. However, it is the perfect book for tourist and people who admire great buildings and big cities. Do not consider this book a complete tour guide, because it's not. If you're a tourist, this book helps you decide what places to visit, but it does not contain a classified list of restaurants, etc. If you buy this book, you'll be happy to see beautiful images of the places you've seen on TV. I hope you enjoy this book.

- Take A Paddle: Western New York Quiet Water For Canoes & Kayaks is a comprehensive, superbly presented, specialized guide for canoe and kayaking enthusiasts. Detailing multiple launch and take-out sites; identifying waterway difficulty levels; providing approximate times to paddle from one point to another; noting amenities and fun diversions suitable for families with children; showing where to camp; what the best season for paddling each waterway; even where to rent canoes or kayaks or find commercial shuttle services, Take A Paddle: Western new York Quite Water For Canoes Kayaks covers more than 250 miles of flat-water creeks and rivers, as well as 20 ponds and lakes. Included are Livingston, Monroe, Steuben, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Erie, Chautauqua, Genesee, Orleans, and Niagara counties.
- My wife and I bought this book and our canoe in the same week.
Coincidence? I don't think so. This book overs families a great chance to get outside and share time together.
The rating system is outstanding and the directions are great.
This is the type of book that screams out for a second volumn I would gladly volunteer to be a guest contributor should the authors ever decide to do a second volumn.

1 comments about New York Theatre Walks: Seven Historical Tours from Times Square to Greenwich Village and Beyond.
- Howard Kissell offers some fun insights into the buildings and landmarks of New York theater. I'm familiar with many of the locations (he even mentions Applause Theatre Books, where I used to work), but he offers a lot of information I didn't know, too -- especially on the landmarks involving Adolph Green and Irving Berlin. A delight for people who love theater and walking, as I do. I'm looking forward to trying these walks on my next visit to Manhattan.
