1. Excellent, "must-have" pack of Zagat surveys. SOmething for everyone and the bundled price saves money and the trouble of searching various bookstores for each NYC survey book.



2. So far I have used the restaurant guide. It is fabulous. I used it
   to select 3 restaurants and they were all great. The descriptions in the guide, while usually a bit tongue-in-cheek, are pretty accurate.
   
   In NY many restaurants flaunt their Zagat rating at their entrance. They obviously use the rating as a selling point.

1. this is so far the easiest travel book i've read. i almost read from the first page to the last without flipping back and forward all the time. it's nicely structured that i didn't spend any time figuring how to read this book as i have to do when reading other travel books. i like the maps with marks of attractions in each area. also, it feels like it is a real person who was writing it. lots of personal, practical opinions. on the other hand, if you want objective perspectives, this is not a book for you. but so far as i found out, all the subjective judgements have been pretty accurate. the only thing i don't really like about the book is it has too much about accommodation and dining, which i found not quite useful for me. overall, it's an excellent book. i highly recommend.



2. I purchased this for my daughter prior to her moving to NYC to attend college. She says this is a great reference that she keeps in her purse at all times.

1. This map is essential to find out what restaurants are nearby. Be it neighborhood, residence, or hotel, or after-theater dining, you can glance at the map and see what establishments are close.
   
   If you have detailed questions, it helps to have the accompanying (alphabetical) Zagat Guide handy.
   
   Superb for out-of-towners as well as locals. These maps have also been published for San Francisco, and possibly Chicago, but not many others.
