  1. Edmund Wilson is, of course, one of the most critically acclaimed American authors. His book, "Upstate", is, to my knowledge, his only autobiographical work. This book was recommended to me by a brilliant, eccentric co-worker who knows I love great books and remembers that I was reared in the Empire State.

One of the initial chapters of "Upstate" contains the most eye-opening descriptive history of "American" religions I have encountered. I ensure that any reader will gather wonderful fodder for future cocktail parties simply by reading Wilson's chapter on Upstate religions.

The balance of this book will appeal mainly to true Wilson scholars and bibliophiles who appreciate great writing. While Wilson's hand is superb, the content consists mainly of a detailed recitation of the history of Wilson's, rather average, familial line.

Nevertheless, the mere fact that this is the only book review I have written since attending Colgate University twenty-years ago will demonstrate that I loved the book and would highly recommend it to any true reader.

    -Thomas Moran, Houston, Texas

  1. The book is so well laid out and easy to follow. It made finding a garage near our appointment location super simple. The format also let us pick and choose which garage to use based on cost and safety. Additional features like extra charge for SUV and the full range of rates helped us also make a choice based on finances instead of guessing like in the past.

  2. I am glad I have two of these books - one in my car and one in my apartment. I had a friend coming to visit with a car and because I forgot to look at the one in my car before I parked it, I got my apartment one out, researched the best choice based on location and price and found a great garage for him. This book is easy to use, well laid out and well worth the cost.

  3. This book is a fantastic resource for anyone that drives in New York City. If you're sick of overpaying for parking and tired of wasting time circling the block looking for a space, you will be thrilled with this guide to all of the parking garages in New York City. Find the best deals and the most convenient spots near your destination and learn how to avoid getting ripped off.

  4. I've had to park twice in Manhattan in the last month and saved 10 dollars both times by using Park It. It also helps knowing where you are going to park so you can drive straight there.

  1. I live just a few blocks from Central Park, but reading through this book, I realize how many things there are that I've never seen or appreciated! It's a great introduction to the history of the park and the things beyond the grass and trees that there are to explore. It joins my Zagat guide in my purse as things I don't leave home without on the weekends.

  1. Are you fascinated by the many wonders of nature? Did you know that there are a lot of amazing natural phenomena occuring right around you?

This book is a unique and excellent guide to the most spectacular natural phenomena occuring in your region. The information is neatly organized and detailed directions are included. 1. I hope they keep updating this little gem I discovered one day at a local bookseller. I was looking for a spectacular way to make my new wife's birthday special, and this handy guide provided me with ALL the answers. I live in Manhattan and find its hotels to make up an important part of its eclectic culture. Sperry has pointed me to some wonderful small (and not so small) hotels that I've walked by a dozen times and never knew existed. A real treat . . . highly recommended.
