4 comments about Honduras and Bay Islands Guide (Open Road).
- There are few guidebooks on Honduras at all.Even if competition were available HONDURAS & THE BAY ISLANDS would be well worthwhile. It is simple ,well laid out by regions and truly has all the essential information a travelor would need.We found it more helpful than most of the ''big name'' books that we are all familiar with. Using this guide I planned our entire three week trip.,including air, car rentals, sights and lodging. We so thoroughly loved Honduras ,we are moving there.Bon Voyage. Bill Lockman
- As the owner-manager of the Humuya Inn Bed and Breakfast in Tegucigalpa I can verify that this is the best guidebook I've seen for Honduras and the Bay Islands.
It is my constant companion as I take it on my trips with my family around our beautiful country. The information is concise and accurate, and I would only reccommend this book to my guests for there travels. Don't leave home without it!
- This book deserves no stars. This is the worst guidebook I have ever used! The information is inconsistent and not organized well. It lacks a language section. I found the references to "clubs for men" offensive. In addition, this book included inaccurate generalizations of the women in Honduras. Although this book is in its fifth edition, there are still several errors in it. I would have been better off using the Rough Guide to Central America.
- I brought two guidebooks with me on my recent trip to Honduras, which is an amazing country to visit by the way, and this book was the better resource by far. (The other book was Lonely Planet's Central America on a Shoestring.) J.P. Panet writes about Honduras with sincere affection for its people and a sensitivity to their culture. Hotel and restaurant listings are comprehensive, phone numbers are accurate (not so with Lonely Planet's book), and descriptions are useful. I almost didn't buy this book because of another review on (...) site, but I'm glad I ignored it!

1 comments about Colorado R Reader.
- This compilation of exceptionally well-written excerpts is a wonderfully varied introduction to, or refresher of, longer works from some of the best authors of books about the Colorado River and its environs. The works range from the predictable, e.g., the writings of John Wesley Powell, Edward Abbey, and Ann Zwinger, to the unexpectedly insightful, e.g., the Paiute Indian Legend and a chapter about the Datura plant by Linda Hogan. Author Richard F. Fleck has carefully chosen writings that portray a variety of perspectives, each an invitation to a longer, more developed work of comparable quality. This is not the only collection of writings about the Colorado River, but it is one of the best edited. If you are looking for a listing of masterworks as recommendations for further reading you have to look no further than the Table of Contents of A Colorado River Reader. But beware, this introduction to the mythology, history, sport, philosophy, ecology, geology, and biology of the Colorado River may cause you to spend additional money on the books from which these passages were excerpted. Of course, and I know from personal experience, money spent on any of these books will be money well spent.

1 comments about Mountain Biking Albuquerque.
- From cover to cover this guide allows you to follow it's contents easily and affectively. You won't be wasting your ride time figuring out where to go. The maps are easy to read, giving you just the right information. There are graphs that show you distance in relation to elevation, a real helpful tool in guaging if this ride will be what you want. It also discribes terrain and gives a scale of difficulty to aide in the decision making. I enjoy carring this book with me when I ride because it is so easy to use. I would highly recomend this and other Falcon guides to any avid mountain biker like myself.

- User friendly road atlas. You get a lot of information for the price and its just the right size. I love the sprial binding, that makes it easy to change pages.
- I just purchased this book and found it to be very good until I wanted to check for a low clearence. Each state has all of their counties listed with the clearences in feet and inches. The bad news no where on any of the maps does it name any counties. So the book is useless to me for that reason.
