  1. These are great guides to view all the architectural gems in my neighborhood and surrounding areas. Highly recommended for locals or people who visit Los Angeles often. You wouldn't think there are so many historical houses and buildings to see in this town, but Laura Massino Smith has compiled them into these handy books with great photos as well.

  2. If you'd like to take any of several self-guided automobile tours of Los Angeles and nearby areas, Laura Massino Smith's books are excellent. Each tour book has clear directions and easy-to-read maps, lots of fascinating notes and information, plus photos of what to look for. I've lived in LA for over twenty-five years, and Smith's books have surprised me with things I'd never seen or hadn't noticed. There are three of her books in my glove compartment so far (Hollywood, Silverlake, and Hancock Park/Miracle Mile) and I'll be getting the rest as well.

  3. I loved Laura's architectural tour of Hollywood. Her directions are clear. She includes lots of interesting places that are both on and off the beaten path. The pictures enable the reader to easily identify the buildings she features. And, she includes helpful descriptions of the architecture and interesting facts about the buildings' history. Great tool for travellers intersted in architecture.

  1. I...specialize in education and entertainment about death ingeneral as well as Hollywood. I throughly enjoyed this book. I use itas a reference guide that I keep in my car. I often entertain my guests by giving them tours of Hollywood's and Los Angeles' famous death spots. I like the facts about some of the lesser known people who made hollywood, but are often ignored. This is the strong point of this book and I rely on it. Most other Hollywood death books rehash the same material over and over.

  1. Fabulous! Fabulous! Fabulous! If you love Barbie or love L.A. you will love this book. If you hate L.A. and love Barbie you will love this book. If you hate Barbie and love L.A. you will love this book and if you hate both you will still love this book.

    It's really great.

  2. Barbie loves L.A. is by far the cutest book I have ever seen. I postitvely love it! My favorite picture would have to be Barbie at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Barbie's outfits are so rad and she goes to a bunch of my favorite places in L.A.! I wish some of those outfits were mine!

  3. This book is just TOOOO CUTE! It is so well done from the text to the photographs. I still have my #6 Barbie with many of the clothes featured in the book and the photographs of my favourite hot spots in L.A. The book makes this such a special souvenir (it was a birthday gift)uniting my childhood with the present. Barbie, I'm 2 years older than you and look just as great!!!

  4. A friend had the book and we all loved it. I can't wait to get my own copy. The book is fun, creative, well done and brings back many memories of hours of fun and the joys of youth.

  5. Barbie is looking good in all my favorite LA hot spots. Cant wait to see her in Paris!

  1. The Thomas Guide Pro is a must have if you use your guide on a regular basis. The laminated pages really help keep it in great condition. I use it for EMT work. It gets tossed around everyday and it still looks as new as the day I bought it. I definetly recommend it.
