3 comments about Michelin Bourgogne France (Michelin Maps).
- As usual from Michelin, a high-quality, detailed road map that is very useful for anyone doing a driving tour of the region.
- The Michelin Regional Bourgogne 1:275000 Map #519 is pretty good. However, if one is doing a driving tour of the region, the Michelin Local map editions #319 or #320 may be better, with more roads shown. The Michelin Green Guides are indexed to these local map editions. The larger scales have more detail still than #519, but seem to be getting more and more difficult to obtain in the United States. #319 1:175000 map (Nièvre, Yonne) covers the western half of Bourgogne but does not cover Beaune. #320 1:175000 (Côte-d'Or, Saône-et-Loire) covers the eastern half of Bourgogne but has no coverage further west than Auxerre. The Local map series tend to be a little cheaper than the regional series, but often unwieldy because they get huge. Be sure that you are at least 2m tall if you want to be able to open some of these up in one sitting.
Another map product that competes for usefulness here is the Institut Geographique National's series of maps at 1:100000 scale. In this case, it would be #28 Auxerre Saulieu, #29 Dijon Chaumont and #37 Dijon Tournus.
- Wherever you're going, you should always buy a Michelin map. They have EVERYTHING!! These are the maps that my French cousins buy, and I can see why. You can't go wrong, they are a great investment.

1 comments about Michelin The Green Guide Burgundy/Jura (Michelin Green Guides).
- If you do or do not have French language reading comprehension, take note. This English language edition has only half the material available in the French language edition. The corresponding French edition comes in two separate bindings: (1) Le Guide Vert Bourgogne and (2) Le Guide Vert Jura/Franche-Comte.
The choice of English vs French edition may then be a choice of Compact vs Comprehensive.
It is hard not to put a 5 star rating down, because this really is the best and there really is no substitute choice. However, if you are bilingual, there is a choice and then it is a toss-up. There are some difficulties in using this book still.
It is a good basic guidebook in any case, more detailed than any Lonely Planet or Rick Steves travel book. It is outstanding if you are planning a road trip in a car. Like other most recent editions of the Green Guides, this is a pain though, because it is not well indexed, so you really need to study it well beforehand to know where to find things.
It is a good companion to the Michelin Local Series 1:200,000 or larger scale maps 319 (western Bourgogne with no Beaune), 320 (eastern Bourgogne with Beaune) & 321 (Jura).

- This was a great book for visiting paris. The pictures were very nice. The maps are very helpful for getting around to the interesting sites. The decriptions were interesting and informative. I would highly suggest this book if you are visiting paris.
- I looked for many books out there for my first visit to Paris and this one turned out to be really great. It divides the city well into manageable parts and also has nice outlined walking tours of certain areas to get an overall view of the city. Overall, good information and very useful for a first visit to Paris.
