1. This is a great little book at a super price. Lots of quality color and black and white photos and a top notch narrative to go along with them. This book is dense enough to hold the attention of a sophisticated reader and accessible enough not to bore the casual reader.



2. In the summer of 1999 I took my son on a tour of medieval English castles. To plan the trip I looked at a number of books to decide which castles to visit. This book, written with the sponsorship of English Heritage, describes the different types of castles (e.g.-keep, walled, moated) built throughout the history of England, Scotland and Wales, including where to find the best existing examples of each type. I used the map in the book to plot the locations of these castles, and chose a dozen in London and the surrounding counties to go see. The book was of invaluable assistance--not only in making the selection, but in describing their history and most interesting features. The photography is fantastic. This book was the keystone to a once in a lifetime experience.

1. I attend college in MA and like to hike in my free time. This book told me everything I needed to know, from hiking near Boston (where I go to school) or somewhere farther and away from the city. I highly recommend this guide to all hiking-enthusiasts!

1. Although I cancelled this book order when I found out it would not be published in time for my trip to London, IT CAME ANYWAY, WHILE I WAS IN LONDON. I decided to keep it when I found the hotel where I stayed and enjoyed tea, The Montague on the Gardens, in the list of recommended places to have tea. I have had tea in many London locations, but the chocolate tea at the Montague was outstanding.



2. We used this book on a recent trip to London. It is an excellent guide for planning afternoon tea and tea shopping.

1. I found quite a few helpful bits of information for navigating London with my child. I haven't yet been, so this may be hasty, however, we are planning our stay in London relying in large part on this book.



2. I love this book very much which contains almost everything you need to know if you want to bring your kids to London. Cannot miss it if you want to bring your kids to London.
