  1. Kevin has great ideas for families to do in North Texas. It is great. It's really cool. It's not just the Ballpark.
-- Scott Sams, co-host, Good Morning Texas, ABC-Channel 8, Dallas

This is a great resource for families, or anyone who enjoys exploring their hometown. Kevin's given us a user-friendly tool.

  1. Have used book to find unique attractions in the DFW area. Has help find places we never would have uncovered without the aid of the book. Great resource!

  2. I used this book last year when I visited Dallas/Fort Worth and I plan on using it again this year. Since I only make one week trips to see my family, I'm sure that I'll be using this book for several years to come! (Or until the next edition comes out!)

  1. This guide gives a very good overview of Dallas, as well as Fort Worth, I am familiar with both cities and whomever wrote the guide has actually done their homework, which quite frankly is not always the case in guides of this sort. The guide's reviews for the most part are spot on, and I liked the maps, even though I am familar with Dallas I did learn a thing or two from this guide, which surprised me. Fodor's guides are normally well researched and this one does not disappoint and most of the guide is very current. If you are someone planning to visit the Metroplex, then I recommend you picking up this guide, it will give you a nice overview of the area and set you on the right track to having an enjoyable time in these most enjoyable cities.

  1. I picked this book up as a gift for a client who was staying a week in Dallas and had never been to Texas before. He went through the book and picked places he wanted to go, and apparently had a grand time, because he still raves about his trip.

As I didn't get the book back, I had to purchase another copy and was surprised to see how many interesting places there are in the Metroplex that even I didn't know about (and I've lived here for nearly forever.) I've since recommended this book to my company for future visiting clients and trainees.

Great source of information, excellent organization and primo insight on "must sees".

  2. Wow. I've been in Dallas/Irving area fifty years (since 6 mo. old) and when I picked up this book to take a look, I was amazed at all the places to go I didn't know about! I bought a copy and have enjoyed browsing its offerings! What a great gift for anyone new to the area. What am I talking about? I'm not new! It'll make a great gift - period! A must though for newcomers - hey, real estate people, what an idea for new home buyers coming into the area! And there's so many different great tid bits of info. Thanks to the author for all her work making the Metroplex a breeze to enjoy!

  3. This book is by far the worst travel book I have ever read.
If you are a serious traveler, this book is not for you.
If you are someone on a Sunday outing go ahead buy it.
This book doesnt give you any info on ways to reach places by public transportation. The restaurant reviews arent much help and the author spends too much time reviewing Fort Worth.
Also the entertainment section is horrible. There is much more to do in Dallas than the book reflects.
