4 comments about Rand McNally Puerto Rico Easyfinder (Rand McNally Easyfinder).
- This map is easy to use. It folds and unfolds easy and isn't difficult to manipulate like paper maps. The level of detail on this map is a lot better that the level of detail provided on maps provided by Puerto Rico hotels and Car Rental agencies.
On the negative side, the map I received was a 1998 edition. I didn't realize that I wouldn't be receiving a current map. Because of this some streets and highways were not on this map. This was a big problem for the city map of Ponce.
- This map has just not kept up with the times! There are errors throughout - you just can't trust it. The only map really sold on the island is from Metrodata and its updated every year. I wouldn't trust any other road maps of Puerto Rico.
- This map is another bad map of the island. I bought several before I spent the summer there, and I threw this one away. It must be over 10 years old. I bought one from a local gas station on the island which was cheaper, and much, much better.
- I just got back from a vacation to Puerto Rico, and prior to the trip I purchased this map as I would be driving all around the island. Besides being out of date (though Amazon says it was published in January of 2003, the copywrite date on the map itself says 1998), it was not nearly as inclusive as I had hoped it would be. It is missing a lot of principal roads, and even the orientation of the map is frustrating. The island is cut in half and put on both sides of the map. But when you flip the map over to see the west or east (you never seem to be looking at the side you need), it is always upside down from the side you were just looking at. I had a better time with the free maps I got from a tourist information stand and the rental car place. Do not buy this map. It is worthless. I should have read the other reviews...

4 comments about Street's Cruising Guide to the Eastern Caribbean: Anguilla to Dominica (Street's Cruising Guide).
- This is one of the bests books on sailing ever. Mr. Street is obviously a very acomplished sailer. I strongly suggest this book to anyone who is planning to sail in the Caribbean
- Although I have been sailing for 40 years, this was the most useful and informative sailing guide I have ever read. It adverted me from several unknown and possibly costly collisions...and I'm not referring to other boats. His harbor guides and navigational charts were indispensible! BUY BUY BUY!!!!
- We've sailed and chartered in the USVI and BVI numerous times and ALWAYS take this guide with us. From little known anchorages (Mermaids Chair on St. Thomas) to the most frequented (Great Harbor on Yost Van Dyke)this guide is without equal.
- Excellent It bailed us out when we ran out of light before getting into the anchorage at Philipsburg and got us into several beaches that were completely deserted.
A bit dated is spots (it is 7 years old) For example, Saba has installed a number of excellent mooring on the south and west sides on the island, making it much easier to get either by the traditional landing or LLadder Landing on the West side. There is a road down to that now (no more 1000 steps to climb). However it was out when we were there (4-1-00)

4 comments about The Cruise of the Blue Dolphin: A Family's Adventure at Sea.
- Hilarious in parts-Murray's writing is beautiful! A great read!
She throws down the gangway and the reader climbs on board the Blue Dolphin to join the free-thinking Chandlers and their colorful crew as they journey through southern waters, through the Panama Canal to the Galpagos and back.
- This is a compelling and true account of an amazing adventure. In the middle of the great depression these parents took their kids out of school and exposed them to running a hurricane at sea, exploring the Galapagos Islands before they were settled, visiting a prison island at huge risk where the prisoners were known to shoot at visitors and throw them down wells. No-Holds-Barred home schooling on the open seas! I found it inspirational as a parent and just plain fun to read aloud around the fireplace. My 5 year old always begged for another chapter, I was sad to see it end.
- beautifully written, this book tells a tale of exotic ports and strange people through the eyes of a teenager. compelling for adult and teen alike. highly recommended!
- This is a book that could be a 13 yr old's fantasy. but it is a true and wondeful account of a family's sailing adventure. It should be read by the entire family, as an after dinner treat or a Saturday morning diversion. Good for discussion

1 comments about MapEasy's Guidemap to The Caribbean, Northern Islands (Regional Guidemaps).
- This map and the southern Caribbean one are small, and very vague. They show just the basics, and are not very good for driving. No details of the major towns. I've found much better printable maps each island's website. Very disappointing as the Mapeasy Puerto Rico map is great!

5 comments about The Naked Truth about Hedonism II: A Totally Unauthorized, Naughty But Nice Guide to Jamaica's Very Adult Resort, 2nd Edition.
- I might never get the opportunity to go to Hedo, but I'm certainly prepared if I ever do! This book is just packed with tips and tricks of preparing for your trip. It's also full of crucial information regarding the not-so-well-known etiquette of getting wild and crazy with a bunch of like-minded folks. And the stories are just hysterical. So, even if a trip to Hedo isn't in your future, you can have a great time just reading Chris' book.
- We didn't finish the book because we found it completely unerotic and asexual. The author tells you for instance to bring safety pins to hold your toga in place and to bring toenail polish because the sand on the beach will wear it off. Wow!!! The stories told are all childish fun, but there's not a single one titillating. Puritan lack of sexuality. Boring.
- I went to Hedo for the first time this year and was glad to learn more about the resort before I arrived. highly recommended!
- Fortunately, I am lucky enough to have Chris as my ENGLISH professor at Elmhurst College this semester!! The book is a must for traveling to Jamaica's famed resort. Chris is the best.
- my fiance finished this book in one sitting and it took me two sittings. This book is a must have for anyone considering a trip to hedonism 2 (or three). and for those who aren't considering the trip it is still very well written and entertaining. over all well worth the purchase price.

3 comments about Bermuda Shipwrecks: A Vacationing Diver's Guide to Bermuda's Shipwrecks.
- If you are the type of diver that likes to know the background on your wreck dives then this is for you. The history behind the ships and wrecks is very well laid out. Its a good tool to have if your going to dive the wrecks in Bermuda.
- The first thing that struck me when a copy of this book arrived through my letterbox was how thin it was. As a professional underwater photo-journalist & author who specialises in shipwrecks, I am also a shipwreck historian and, therefore, well aware of the shipwrecks to be found in Bermuda. This book does not do justice to those shipwrecks at all.
Bermuda Shipwrecks is a paper-back book measuring 9" x 6" (23cm x 15 cm) containing 72 pages. With 10 of those pages taken up with such bumf as title of the book (again), fairly ordinary foreword (much of which is repeated on the back cover), acknowledgements, something about the authors, index, how to use the book (which in this case means reading it!) and how to order more copies (as if!), there is precious little room for the details for which we purchased the book in the first place.
The book's cover calls this work "A vacationing diver's guide to Bermuda's Shipwrecks" but it is not even that. Any diver operating anywhere in the world will require diving information and in a number of cases this is wholly non-existent. In others it is less than two lines.
With much of the text punctuated with Teddy did this and then Teddy did that (a reference to Teddy Tucker (who wrote the foreword)) one is left wondering why Teddy didn't do the one thing he should have done - and write the book in the first place. Doubtless it will be called "The Adventures of Teddy!"
In short, this is book of short stories about how many of Bermuda's wrecks were lost. And lost is the right word for this book when it comes to detail.
Not worth the cover price.

- THis is a great beginners book if you are looking for dive sites for all different ability divers. It gives a great little synopsis of all the dives in the area. We have been there twice and it is great!!! Very helpful book. Thanks A+
