2. Ports information is limited. Activities covered are mostly the same as offered in ship excursions.

1. If you're planning on going to La Guadeloupe and if you are interested in a guidebook that goes beyond the usual touristy information, consider this one. It has everything from history to outdoor activities, including a vast choice of very well reviewed accomodations and restaurants. Everything is there to prepare for a great trip. It is also very well written and easy to read which is always a plus.

2. The book was good for information such as history, culture and general travel information such as roads etc. Most the of the hotels and restaurants the book describe no longer exist. It was useful in planning excusions and finding the types of things that aren't going to change over time such as the hiking paths around the volcano, major towns/beaches and attractions of the island. Since there are few books on Guadeloupe travel available in English it is better than nothing.

It has more indepth information than most other travel books. I found their recommendations on ferry travel very useful. Highly recommend.

Topics cover a variety of topics for people who have different interests: camping, bed and breakfasts, bicycling, restaurants, beaches, museums, resorts. Makes it easier to plan a vacation. Highly recommended.
