1 comments about ON THE PATH WITH HEART: In Africa with Habitat for Humanity International.
- This is a story of a school teacher who, in her 50s, suddenly made the decision to "do something different" with her life. While many people will find this story interesting, it will be of special interest to people curious about the international efforts of Habitat for Humanity. It is an up-close, honest account of Grey's time spent all over Africa, reporting for Habitat. Readers learn about the local people she met there and of the difference Habitat houses make in their lives. We also meet the humanitarians with whom Grey works and get an excellent feel for the challenges they face.
Her story is presented "warts and all," which makes it that much more compelling.
Grey is a wonderful observer and reporter of society's achievements - and shortcomings - large and small.
She has a knack for presenting telling detail, and for gently asking some insightful, big-picture questions.
The images I have of the places she went and the people she met will stay with me a long time. I enjoyed traveling along with Grey tremendously.
