Back in November I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Akron, Ohio. Comfort Inn is part of the Choice Hotels chain. It wasn’t the greatest hotel stay I have ever had. In fact, there were a lot of problems. I wrote about it on my blog. And I either filled out a comment card, or commented through their web site. I don’t remember which. But on November 7th, I got a nice letter from a manager in their customer relations department. He appoligized, and said they appreciated me bringing these matters to their attention. He also wrote that my comments had been forwarded to the hotels’ management, and that I would recieve a response from the hotel within the next 7 to 10 business days. I put the letter aside.
Just the other day as I was doing some cleaning, I found the letter. I had never been contacted by the hotel’s management. Interesting. While I appreciated the letter from Choice Hotels International, it bothers me that I never heard back from the management at the Comfort Inn. Maybe it was the appathetic management style at the Akron Comfort Inn that led to the problems I experienced?
I have thought about calling the customer relations manager at Choice Hotels International, and bringing the lack of response to his attention. They even included a 1-800 number. But at this point, I don’t know if I want to bother. I am not planning on staying at the Comfort Inn in Akron again, and will probably think twice about staying at a Comfort Inn elsewhere.
